Alejandra ‘Allie’ Demers is a first generation French-Canadian and Mexican filmmaker hailing from Los Angeles. Allie has directed a wide range of digital media including documentaries, music videos and short films. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from California State University, Northridge and her thesis documentary Bridgeport Blues was awarded Best Documentary against undergraduate and graduate students in the film school. Much of her work creates a narrative throughline on the importance of familial bonds/roots. Her productions aim to capture a sense of nostalgia through the use of media from the past and present, including film photography and analog video. Working as an archivist for the founder of Hard Rock Cafe and House of Blues, Allie helped preserve photos, tapes, videos and memorabilia. Allie has done work for the record labels In Real Life Music and R&R Records, where she has worked on countless projects as a videographer and editor. She aspires to continue creating unique worlds for viewers with her knack for selecting locations, visuals, and music in her work.
